Bolt: Record meter readings during inspections

When your team completes an inspection via a machine's QR code, they can now record an engine hour or odometer reading in the same form, no need to navigate to a separate screen.

How it works

Once a machine has meters configured, the inspection form will show a reading field for each meter immediately after the employee selection. The fields are optional. If a reading isn't available or relevant, your team can leave them blank and submit the inspection as normal.

When a reading is entered, it's saved as a standard meter reading against the machine, timestamped to the moment the inspection was completed. It will appear in the machine's meter history alongside readings recorded through any other method.

Why this matters

Inspections are already part of the daily routine for many teams. They're a natural moment to capture meter data. Previously, recording a reading meant completing the inspection, returning to the machine's QR code page, and navigating to a separate meter reading form. Now it's one step.

This is particularly useful for machines that are inspected every time they're used, where a meter reading at the same time gives you an accurate record of hours or kilometres without any extra effort.
